A direct San Juan-to-Culebra charter would consume 3 to 5 hours of round-trip crossing time, leaving little time on the island. Fajardo's Puerto del Rey Marina puts Culebra within a 60-to-90-minute crossing, which is why every Puerto Rico charter operator positions vessels there.

Drive from your San Juan hotel to Fajardo: 35 miles via PR-26 and PR-3, typically 50 to 75 minutes.
