A private boat tour in Puerto Rico is a custom-quoted charter for your group only — no strangers, no shared cruise. Most tours depart from Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo, the closest port to Culebra, Icacos, Vieques, and Cayo Santiago. Half-day, full-day, sunset, and multi-day options are all available year-round.

Puerto Rico's east coast has the strongest charter infrastructure in the Caribbean: 17 active vessels in our fleet, capacity from 1 to 40 guests, and the shortest crossings to the island's best snorkeling and beach destinations. Compared to a shared cruise or public tour, a private boat tour gives you control of the route, music, food, and pace. Browse our charter fleet or jump straight to the pricing guide.
Private charters consistently outperform shared cruises on every dimension that matters for a vacation day — flexibility, comfort, and time on the water.
From Fajardo, Culebra is 60–90 minutes by power vessel, Icacos is 20 minutes, Vieques is 90 minutes. No public tour reaches all four destinations in one trip — a private boat tour can.
Sailing catamarans, power catamarans, motor yachts, sport-fishing boats, and speedboats. The right boat depends on group size, destination, and trip length — we match you to the vessel that fits.
Most charters depart from Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo — ample parking, restrooms, and shortest crossings to east-coast destinations. About a 1-hour drive from San Juan.
Your group only — no strangers, no shared deck. Compare to a public 'booze cruise' or shared snorkel tour that packs 40–80 strangers onto the same boat.
Charters run 12 months a year. Best conditions April–June; second-best November–early December. Hurricane season runs August–October with day-by-day weather decisions.
Four main tour durations cover most charter trips. Multi-day charters are available on select vessels for overnight expeditions.
4–5 hours
Shorter trips — typically to Icacos Island, Palomino, or a combined La Cordillera snorkel tour. Best for groups with limited time or first-time charter guests. Custom-quoted by vessel.
6–8 hours
Culebra, Vieques, or a combined east-coast snorkel itinerary with multiple stops. Most popular tour type — enough time for lunch at anchor and 2–3 swim stops. Custom-quoted by vessel.
2–3 hours
East-coast golden-hour cruise from Fajardo — mountain silhouettes, open Caribbean horizons, calm evening seas. Great for couples, small groups, and special occasions. San Juan Bay sunset cruises coming with our next vessel addition.
2+ nights
Overnight charters that hop between Culebra, Vieques, and the Spanish Virgin Islands. Available on select yachts. See our multi-day charter guide for itineraries.
Most tours run east-coast itineraries; Mona Island and Caja de Muertos are advanced multi-day or special-charter trips.
60–90 minutes from Fajardo. Flamenco Beach is consistently ranked among the world's top beaches. Carlos Rosario offers some of the best reef snorkeling in the Caribbean.
20 minutes from Fajardo. Shallow turquoise waters and white-sand beach inside La Cordillera Nature Reserve. The most popular half-day boat tour destination.
90 minutes from Fajardo. Mosquito Bay is the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world (Guinness World Records). Day-trip and overnight options.
45 minutes from Fajardo. Wildlife viewing of free-ranging rhesus monkeys from the boat (no landings allowed). Pairs naturally with Icacos for a full-day combo.

Quotes are sent within 24 hours. Each vessel is priced for the full boat (not per person), with captain, crew, fuel, ice, water, and basic snorkeling gear included.
A deposit holds the vessel and date. We finalize itinerary, departure time, meeting point, and any add-ons (catering, open bar, water toys, DJ).
Arrive 15 minutes before departure at Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo. Captain runs a safety briefing, then the day is yours — your itinerary, your pace.
Return to the marina at the scheduled time. We follow up by email for feedback and to plan your next charter — most guests rebook within a year.
“We booked a full-day charter for my husband's birthday and it exceeded every expectation. Snorkeling…”
All boat tour charters are custom-quoted by vessel and itinerary — no published price list. Per-vessel pricing (not per-person) means splitting the total across your group keeps the per-person cost reasonable for groups of 6 or more.
Smaller speedboats and sailing catamarans cost less than large motor yachts and luxury sport-fishing vessels. Vessel size, age, and amenities all factor in.
Sunset cruises are the lowest tier; full-day charters scale higher. Multi-day overnight charters carry the highest base rate plus fuel and provisioning costs.
Culebra and Vieques trips burn more fuel than Icacos or La Cordillera. The quote line-itemizes fuel based on planned distance.
Open bar, catering, DJ, water toys (paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel masks for larger groups). All optional, all priced separately.
All Puerto Rico private boat tours are custom-quoted per vessel and itinerary — there is no fixed price. Half-day charters run 4–5 hours, full-day charters run 6–8 hours, and sunset cruises run 2–3 hours. Each vessel is priced for the full boat (not per person) with captain, crew, fuel, ice, water, and basic snorkeling gear included. Contact us for a quote based on your group size and dates.
Most boat tours depart from Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo on Puerto Rico's east coast. Fajardo is roughly a 1-hour drive from San Juan and is the closest port to Culebra, Icacos, Vieques, and Cayo Santiago — the four most popular boat tour destinations. A dedicated San Juan harbor vessel is in development and will expand departure options in the future.
The most popular east-coast boat tour destinations are Culebra Island (Flamenco Beach, Carlos Rosario reef), Icacos Island (La Cordillera Nature Reserve), Vieques (Bioluminescent Bay), and Cayo Santiago (Monkey Island wildlife viewing). Advanced multi-day expeditions can reach Isla de Mona (41 nautical miles west) and Caja de Muertos (off Ponce on the south coast).
Most tours are booked as half-day (4–5 hours), full-day (6–8 hours), or sunset cruise (2–3 hours). Half-day tours typically visit Icacos or Palomino. Full-day tours head to Culebra or Vieques with multiple snorkel stops. Multi-day overnight charters are available on select vessels.
Our charter fleet accommodates 1 to 40 guests depending on the vessel. Small speedboats hold 6–10; mid-size sport-fishing boats and catamarans hold 12–20; large yachts and party catamarans hold up to 40. For groups larger than 40 we can pair two vessels.
Yes — catamarans are the most popular vessel type for families with children. Wide stable decks reduce seasickness, low swim platforms make in-and-out of the water easy, and shallow-water destinations like Icacos are ideal for first-time young swimmers. USCG-approved child-sized life jackets are provided on every charter.
April through June is the best window — calmest seas, warmest water, lowest rain probability. November through early December is the second-best window. Hurricane season runs August through October, with day-by-day weather decisions; the captain has final authority on safety. Winter trade winds can make crossings to Culebra bumpier December through March.
A private boat tour is your group only — no strangers, no shared deck space. You choose the music, food, itinerary, and stops. A shared cruise (like a public 'booze cruise' or shared snorkel tour) packs 40 to 80 strangers onto the same boat with a fixed itinerary, fixed schedule, and shared deck. Private tours cost more per person for small groups but cost less per person for groups of 10 or more.
